Amit Pandey President and CEO, Zenprise

Was in charge of the Data Management business at NetApp.

Zenprise, Inc., in secure Mobile Device Management (MDM), announced that its board of directors has appointed Amit Pandey as president and CEO, effective immediately.

Amit brings to Zenprise experience in building innovative high growth businesses. At NetApp he was in charge of the Data Management business, which he led from infancy to revenues of over $500 million – creating the disk based backup market in the process. Prior to that he was the GM of NetApp’s Enterprise Security Gateway business, where he helped grow the business from startup to over $100 million in bookings in 3 years. Most recently, Amit was CEO of Terracotta Inc. Under his leadership, TerraCotta’s BigMemory product became the leader in the high growth in-memory data store market. Prior to NetApp, Amit was with McKinsey & Company.

He holds a BS from Brown, and MS and MBA from MIT.

"Zenprise is a strong, fast growing company. Amit’s experience working in high growth environments and his ability to accelerate business is exactly what Zenprise needs to further strengthen its leadership position," said Dr. Waheed Qureshi, founder, chairman, and CTO of Zenprise. "Amit has a deep understanding of data management and data security through his time at NetApp and Terracotta. This understanding, coupled with his proven leadership makes him ideal to lead Zenprise through its explosive growth."

"I am very excited to join the Zenprise team. The company has great momentum and its technology and products are ground breaking," Pandey said. "Unlike other MDM companies, Zenprise recognizes that device management is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to managing the mobile enterprise. Its innovative mobile Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) and mobile Sharepoint products protect critical enterprise data, a major and unsolved problem for most companies. Gartner has recognized this innovativeness in its MDM reports. I look forward to working with the very impressive Zenprise team to extend the company’s market leadership."

Jayaram Bhat, will step down from his current role as the CEO and president of Zenprise and will become an advisor to the company. "We are all grateful to Jayaram for everything he has accomplished through his leadership as CEO," added Dr. Qureshi. "In everything that Jayaram does, he has the highest level of integrity and he has been an indispensible person to getting the company to where it is today."

Dr. Qureshi continues: "In 2011 alone, Jayaram led Zenprise to outstanding results. Through a team effort, Zenprise achieved a number of significant milestones including: grew bookings more than 400%, quadrupled MDM enterprise customers worldwide and raised $30 million, led by Greylock Partners." He added: "Our work is not going unnoticed. For example, Forrester named Zenprise an Innovator in its Market Overview: On-Premises Mobile Device Measurement Solutions. In addition, Gartner positioned Zenprise in the Visionary quadrant in the 2011 Mobile Device Management Magic Quadrant."
