Promise Brings Out VTrak Jx30 Expansion Chassis

PROMISE Technology, Inc. announced an expansion of their VTrak and Pegasus storage families with the introduction of the VTrak Jx30 Expansion Chassis and Pegasus J2 and J4 JBODs.

VTrak Jx30 Expansion Chassis

The PROMISE VTrak J930s is a dense 6Gbps SAS 4U/60-bay expansion chassis that enables data hungry applications to scale to petabytes without having to sacrifice server rack real estate. It can be connected as an expansion chassis for VTrak x30 Series RAID subsystems or to SAS enabled servers. The J930s supports an architecture that allows for connectivity to 6Gb and 3Gb hard drives and SSDs.

Available with redundant active-active interface modules, all models also feature redundant hot-swap power and cooling units that can deliver over 90 percent power efficiency helping lower your carbon footprint. The VTrak Jx30 series allows storage applications to access their data at fast speeds using multi-lane 6Gg SAS architectures. The 6Gg SAS connectivity paves the way for multi-land bandwidth to support the flood of unstructured data now flowing across networks. Backward compatible with 3Gb SAS/SATA devices, users have the ability to deploy 3Gb and 6Gb SAS/SATA HDDs and SSDs in the Jx30 series.

PROMISE Pegasus J2 is a small Thunderbolt enabled external storage device designed to unleash the raw power of Thunderbolt technology. Powered by 6Gb mSATA flash the J2 is capable of delivering over 700 MB/s throughput while supporting volume encryption in the consumer and professional post production markets.

Pegasus J4 is a 4-bay 2.5" small form factor Thunderbolt storage solution supporting HDD and SSD.

Thunderbolt technology ports are capable of delivering a two channels of 10 Gb/s (1.25 GB/s) per port of performance. With I/O rates of over 500 MB/s the J4 delivers a leap in the performance of portable hard drive based data storage for both professionals and amateurs in the post-production world. Both the J2 and J4 feature product design combined with a fan ess ultra slim compact enclosure resulting in zero noise emanating from the devices.
