Silver Peak WAN Optimization Qualified With Isilon

Silver Peak Systems, Inc. announced that its WAN optimization appliances have
been tested and qualified with the EMC Isilon
NAS and SyncIQ replication products.

The two companies have benchmarked performance gains of up to 90x for SyncIQ
replication throughput and 99% bandwidth reduction across some WAN
environments. Enterprise customers benefit from accelerated big data
replication without the need to increase the WAN infrastructure investment.

Silver Peak’s full portfolio of physical and virtual WAN optimization
appliances optimize available WAN bandwidth and ensures that all WAN traffic is
not adversely impacted by distance or poor network quality. By combining the
Silver Peak network optimization techniques with Isilon scale-out
NAS, remote users can access centralized files faster and more reliably, which maximizes employee
productivity. Isilon SyncIQ customers can replicate
90-times more data over WAN connections shared by other EMC and non-EMC
applications. This ensures RPO are met, and minimizes
DR costs by obviating the need for dedicated storage networks.

the EMC Select program, Silver Peak has been qualified and deployed on a
range of EMC replication products, including Isilon SyncIQ, SRDF/A,
RecoverPoint, Atmos, VPLEX Geo, and Celerra. With these qualifications, the two
companies have expanded their mutual list of interoperable products to cover a range of enterprise deployment scenarios. Customers using Silver Peak to
optimize EMC applications include Donegal
Insurance, Golf Savings, NYK Logistics, Petco, and others.
