The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "Securely storing data to an optical disc has been described, including generating write data that includes the data and overhead data that facilitates reading the data from the disc; and configuring the overhead data according to a key."
The patent application was filed on March 11, 2003 (10/387,232).
