Microsemi SSD With Hypertronics Ruggedized SATA Connector

Microsemi Corporation announced the availability of its secure TRRUST-Stor SSD with a ruggedized SATA connector designed to solve severe shock and vibration issues prevalent in defense and industrial applications.

Designed in partnership with Hypertronics Corporation, provider of interconnect systems, the new connectors are designed for operation in hostile environments where industry-standard SATA connectors are inadequate.

"Our new connector family protects against the effects of severe shock and vibration, which safeguards the flow of data. As a result, we can now offer customers what is perhaps the most secure and rugged SSD available on the market."

About TRRUST-Stor SATA Connectors
A unique contact and pin design eliminates pin fretting and intermittent disconnects to assure long-term dependability. Offered in several form factors, from board-mount to cable sets, the connector family provides a vibration-resistant solution for products where solid performance and zero downtime are key requirements.

The extended environment connectors are designed with 50 percent lower contact resistance than conventional designs and provide a minimum of 100,000 insertions with little to no performance degradation. Mating connectors are available in right angle, vertical and cable set configurations, supporting SATA rates up to six 6 Gb/s. The cable mount version of the connector includes a quarter-turn latching mechanism that simplifies installation and assures a reliable long-term connection.
