By utilizing IPR’s DR Private Cloud, VHA’s members on the East Coast will
realize improved recovery and cost savings.
VHA Pennsylvania Operations VP, Harry Carr states: "It has been exciting to see how the members
are responding to the cost sharing model and to the forum for ideas and best
practices."
The VHA Private Cloud program was developed in response to the Member CEO’s
Strategic Planning goals. By implementing electronic records and integrated
systems, hospitals are increasingly aware of their exposure to systems’
failures and, at the same time, are limited on DR. When systems are down the
whole health system feels it. This program helps the VHA member hospitals
improve their up-time without the capital spending and administrative burden of
traditional DR.
In the traditional DR model, each hospital has to go it alone. Staffs are
stretched thin to keep pace with production systems that DR reliability often
falls behind. The VHA members have been amazed at how affordable it is for them
to deploy a comprehensive DR program with tiers of availability to match system
criticality with the IPR solution.
Marcia Wasserman, IPR’s director of Strategic Accounts states: "It’s great to hear VHA members say that this
program is exactly what they have been looking for. Hats off to VHA for
delivering an innovative buying program to solve a challenging problem."
