Sepaton S2100 Achieves Certification for Symantec A.I.R
And also for optimized synthetic backups

Inc. announced that its S2100 is the first data protection platform to receive
certification by Symantec
Corporation for supporting Symantec’s NetBackup OpenStorage Auto Image Replication
(A.I.R.) software.
Sepaton has also been certified by Symantec for supporting optimized synthetic
backups. The Symantec NetBackup certification list can be viewed here.
"With this announcement, Sepaton
extends its lead in the OST backup market by offering the first certified implementation of A.I.R. for
NetBackup by an independent vendor," said Joe Forgione, SVP, product
operations and business development, Sepaton, "Our comprehensive OST functionality enables large enterprise IT
organizations to eliminate administrative and operational complexity as data
protection is consolidated into a single, integrated process across the entire
infrastructure."
Sepaton’s support for NetBackup’s advanced replication feature, A.I.R., makes
disk-based backup and DR easier and faster for large, data-intensive
enterprises. Support for optimized synthetic backups over TCP/IP provides users
with a more efficient form of backup and requires no additional data movement
across the network to create a full backup on demand within the Sepaton system.
Sepaton S2100
Sepaton S2100 systems support both tape/FC and OST/10GbE protocols on
the same system. Storage pooling feature lets users configure a pool
of storage for each environment and migrate to OST. Users can reduce the
tape/FC environment as data expires from it for a low risk migration
with no interruptions in service. Storage pooling also lets enterprises
partition a single Sepaton system into multiple OST servers and track usage of
each pool separately with multi-tenancy.
