New Zealand's Connector Systems Acquires Australia's Techplus Distribution

New Zealand IT distributor Connector Systems Holding Ltd acquired Melbourne-based Australian IT distributor, Techplus Distribution.

Techplus is a Melbourne-based valued-added distributor of virtualisation and WAN optimisation products and software, with an office in Sydney.

"The purchase of Techplus is a fantastic opportunity to grow our business in Australia," says Dale Smith, MD of Connector Systems. "In the short term we will be looking to leverage off our combined strengths and distributing a large portion of the Techplus product range in NZ and also distributing some of the Connector Systems products in Australia through Techplus."

Techplus Managing Director, Paul Kern, reiterates Smith’s statements: "The acquisition of Techplus Distribution by Connector Systems presents us with the opportunity to increase the value-added services we provide to our channel and to increase the range of market leading brands we have available."

The purchase of Techplus by Connector Systems allows for increased capability in terms of local resources for pre-sales, implementation, configuration and training as well as providing an increased footprint of sales resources and dedicated marketing resources.

Kern adds: "The resellers who already love dealing with Techplus will find even more products and services available to them and the resellers who are yet to experience the Techplus difference will be refreshed at the personalised service they receive."

Smith concurs: "Through this acquisition, Connector Systems will focus strongly on growing the Australian business. We will take the already excellent customer service reputation Techplus currently enjoys and build on it to make it even better."
