At undisclosed engineering services firm
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 6, 2012 at 3:02 pmIceWEB, Inc. announced that an
enterprise engineering services firm has selected IceWEB 3000 with IceSTORM to
replace EMC for its applications demanding 24×7
availability across multiple locations.
IceWEB’s channel partner is DataSpan, Inc.,
a Dallas, TX based specializing in data storage for Fortune 1000 companies for
over 35 years.
The IceWEB unified data storage system chosen
to replace legacy systems,
which include a mix of EMC Clarion, NX20
satisfied the following requirements:
- Tiered storage platform comprised of SSD & 600GB 15k drives for
high IO performance combined
with 3TB drives for capacity and redundancy for data protection. - Unlimited snapshots for local DR with zero-capacity reservation, zero overhead
meeting SLA of near-zero RPO and RTO. - Bidirectional, asynchronous and geographically disparate replication for
business continuity and DR. - Support and integration with VMWare ESXi 5.0 cluster.
- Performance cluster aware storage for Microsoft
SQL Server databases running on Windows 2008 cluster. - High IO storage for Enterprise Microsoft Exchange Mail Environment.
"Our client required the
absolute highest levels of availability with its mission critical applications,"
said Bryan Kelsch, systems engineer for DataSpan. "The client’s need for a hybrid disk pool with continuous snapshots,
replication across multiple locations and support for VMWare ESXi 5.0 cluster
were equally critical. The IceWEB 3000 was the perfect fit for their needs.
We’ve specialized in storage for a long time, and we’re excited about IceWEB’s
offerings in filling a nice void among our customers."
"While winning new
customers over the competition is a strong indicator of technical superiority,
unseating a long established competitor in a customer’s data center makes the
ultimate statement about IceWEB’s position in the marketplace," said
Steven Toole, CMO at IceWEB. "Integration with VMWare vSphere 5.0 cluster combined with IceWEB’s
enterprise-class availability, data protection and tier 1 application
performance gave the customer the best value over the competition in this case
as it undoubtedly will for countless other similar organizations."
