Bumi Signs Cohen Brothers
As 40th real estate client
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 4, 2012 at 2:54 pmBUMI (Backup My Info!, Inc.), provider
of online backup and recovery solutions for SMBs,
announced the signing of its 40th real estate client.
Cohen Brothers Realty Corporation,
a private real estate and management firm, joins a
roster of real estate customers, including Lee & Associates Licensing
and Administration Co, LLC and Forsgate Industrial Properties.
BUMI’s announcement revealed that real estate and construction
represents one of its largest customer bases alongside financial services and
legal services. The nature of the real estate industry makes it an ideal
candidate for BUMI’s backup and recovery services. Real estate and construction
are characterized by project-oriented transactions that include sensitive
financial information and accumulate more aggregate data that needs to be
managed and protected. Real estate also supports a high percentage of remote
offices, whose access to central information is not always secure and may
compromise data being transferred and stored.
"As BUMI grows, we’re
seeing clear data trends within certain industries," said Jennifer
Walzer, CEO of BUMI. "The way the
real estate, construction and architecture industries are structured leaves
them vulnerable to data loss, which is why we’ve seen such a high demand and
why we’ve tailored solutions specifically for this space."
Cohen Brothers, which was founded over 50 years ago to develop properties in prime locations, initially chose BUMI competitor Iron
Mountain over BUMI because Iron Mountain was able to offer a cheaper price
point, but when Iron Mountain failed to support Cohen Brothers’ new Exchange
2010 server, the real estate firm engaged BUMI for their backup and recovery
needs.
"We found out that a
lower price isn’t always cheaper," said Anthony Manzo, IT director for
Cohen Brothers. "If you’re not being
covered the way you need to be covered, you’ll pay for it in other ways. With
BUMI, our backup and recovery needs are identified, met and continually
supported. Now, I’m confident that our Exchange server is well protected, and,
apart from being smart business, peace of mind is priceless."
Lee & Associates, the fourth largest commercial real estate
sales organization in the country, engaged BUMI to backup the main server of
its New Jersey location, which all 25 employees of the Little Falls-based real
estate firm use to store documents, correspondence, financial records,
QuickBooks files and presentations, as well as their clients’ financial
accounting records, leases and legal documents. The latter is critical to the
real estate company’s success.
"We handle a lot of
bookkeeping and accounting for our clients," said VP and Principal
Jason Lynch. "We store all of their
files, which can include years of accounting records. If we permanently lost
that data, we’d be out of business."
