NetApp E-Series Achieves Intransa Certification

For HD video surveillance projects

Intransa, Inc.,
the physical security infrastructure and services company, announced that
NetApp E-Series storage systems have been tested and certified for use with Intransa Video Appliance
and server platforms for open, HD-optimized video surveillance projects.

Testing was performed by Intransa with a NetApp E2660 Storage System
from the E-Series family. The E2660 is a storage
platform with a modular design and flexibility. Its flexible design
benefits include the capability to scale bandwidth or capacity independently to meet a  range of data center requirements. The
E2660 delivers customizable configurations, leveraging a 60-drive shelf with
3TB NL-SAS disk drives to provide up to 180TB for maximum rack density. Other
features include a redundant I/O path, advanced protection features, and
iSCSI and FC interface options. In addition to the E2660, the E5460
from the E-Series family provides the same density and higher performance.

"NetApp customers are now
able to deploy their choice of applications from the physical security
industry’s leading video management system vendors with confidence,
"
said Bud Broomhead, CEO, Intransa. "Integration
with Intransa video-optimized servers and appliances eliminates many of the
challenges for IT customers who need to deploy a reliable video surveillance
system
."

Intransa’s video-optimized server and appliance platforms eliminate the
challenges of untested commodity servers in the demanding, 24x7x365 world of
video surveillance. The company’s patented and patent-pending software
technology, services and video optimization, along with hardware
tuning, have been proven in thousands of customer’s video security
installations.

Pretesting by the Intransa Technology Lab with 3rd party security
applications such as video management systems, video analytics, access control
and PSIM, along with standard IP, Megapixel, and HD cameras, helps to identify
interoperability, performance and integration challenges in advance of
installation at a customer site. OEM storage platform testing, such as that
completed by the NetApp E2600 storage system, ensures that the system
works together to address demanding customer video requirements from the
physical security world on world-class enterprise IT hardware.
