NaviSite Adds Self-Service Storage
To cloud management portal
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 28, 2012 at 3:12 pmA Time Warner Cable company, NaviSite, Inc., provider of enterprise hosting, managed application, managed messaging and managed cloud services, introduced self-service storage features allowing organizations to access and manage their data.
The new features contribute to business continuity and have been added to NaviCloud’s AppCenter cloud management portal and include:
- Self-Service VM Backup: Provides data protection for virtual machines. AppCenter enables scheduling of de-duplicated VM backups and provides access to backuped server images for recovery.
- NaviCloud NAS: Allows IT departments to create NAS appliances for storing and serving files using a point and click user interface. It can be attached to VMs via CIFS or NFS connections for lower storage costs, greater capacity than SAN alternatives and provides an economic backup alternative.
"We are continuing to add visibility, control and self-service features to NaviCloud’s AppCenter Management Portal," said Denis Martin, EVP and CTO at NaviSite. "The new self-service storage provides customers with improved scalability and performance while enhancing their business continuity storage solutions."
Security, visibility, data recovery and control are integral to an enterprise cloud deployment, and NaviSite works with customers to address these requirements.
