Opening of Biwin America by Chinese Parent Company

To develop and market SSDs in San Jose, CA

Biwin Technology Limited, in flash storage products, announced the opening of Biwin America, Inc. in San Jose, CA to develop and market flash-based SSD storage solutions for enterprise, embedded and client applications.

Biwin is in OEM and ODM USB flash drives. The company boasts manufacturing strength that includes die sorting and packaging, over 20 SMT lines, and test and QC processes. The founding of Biwin America, Inc., in the heart of Silicon Valley, marks the company’s expansion into the USA market with a focus on expanding their existing SSD product portfolio. The company will sell its products directly to OEMs as well as through distribution.

"Biwin America will be dedicated to developing flash storage solutions that deliver superior performance and reliability. We’re very much looking forward to bringing innovative new SSD products to market," said Joe James, VP WW marketing, Biwin America.

Founded in 1995, Biwin, in flash storage products for enterprise, embedded and client computing has shipped over 100 million flash products to date.

Biwin Technology was founded in 1995 in Xili, Shenzhen, China, being engaged in HDDs and floppy disks. Then it manufactured memory cards, VGA, USB 3.0 keys. It entered into its own branded SSDs in 2009.
 
Biwin Semiconductor, a wholly-owned R&D subsidiary set up in 2009 in Nanshan, Shenzhen, China with total capital invested reaching to 300 million RMB, is the first company who goes into NAND flash assembly and test in South China, stated the firm. It manages a 7,000 square meter factory, with 1k class clean room (see picture below) with 20 SMT assembly lines (e-MMC and eSSD).

Biwin's portfolio includes 1.8-inch, 2.5-inch SATA SSDs and embedded units.

For flash chips, the company works with about all the current manufacturers: Samsung, Micron, Toshiba, Intel and Hynix.

Biwin began to operate a Taiwan Office last February and just opened a U.S. one.
