Baidu Brings Out Online Backup in China

Baidu, Inc. launched a cloud storage service product, pan.baidu.com, on March 23 to provide individual users with 15GB of initial space and allows them to expand the capacity without limit.

It will provide services for multiplied platforms including personal computers and mobile phones.

In addition to the storage capacity, it provides other functions including online browser and offline download . It can online preview of documents, pictures, music and web, and also classify files to facilitate users to find.

Baidu also announced the use of redundant backup and encryption technologies to ensure the security of users’ information.

In addition, Baidu will release a Baidu developer center and establish four service systems, including development services, operations services, channel promotion and liquidating to form a series of new products and services for developers. In addition to Baidu, other Internet companies have launched and strengthened the cloud storage service.

Surveys showed the compound annual growth rate of China’s cloud storage service market will reach 103% in the recent five years.
