Global cloud company EMC Corp. to hire 500 in Utah
The $20 billion global digital storage company EMC Corp. officially opened a technical support center in Draper on Wednesday that is expected to eventually employ about 500 people with high-tech and customer service skills. The 25,000-square-foot center has been operating since December, and EMC officials said they expect to have the 500 jobs filled by the end of 2015. To qualify for a $3.5 million state tax incentive, the jobs are to pay at least 125 percent of Salt Lake County’s average annual wage of $41,636 in 2011, or about $52,000.
