Buffalo TeraStation 5 With Two to Eight Bays
NAS + iSCSI, replication with failover, integrated IP camera support
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 19, 2012 at 2:57 pmBuffalo Technology is unveiling the TeraStation 5, its latest NAS/iSCSI storage solution for the SMEs.
The TeraStation 5, available with two, four, six and eight bays populated with HDD. Built around the Intel Atom D2700 64-bit dual-core processor and 2GB DDR3 RAM, it provides fuller features and better performance than its predecessor including data replication with failover for increased availability of either a system or network failure. Once set up, a second connected TeraStation can take over from the first by acquiring its MAC address.
"By incorporating the latest in Intel processors and significant software upgrades of our own, Buffalo’s TeraStation 5 series delivers powerful enterprise class performance and features for the SME market," says Paul Hudson, Sales Director for Northern Europe at Buffalo Technology. "The further development of a joint NAS/iSCSI kernel and support for IP cameras offers our resellers a much more flexible solution in a range of chassis sizes and capacities to appeal to wider markets."
The TeraStation 5 also incorporates Active Directory Support which simplifies the management of data. Its hot-swap functionality means that even if a drive fails, it will automatically power down the faulty drive to allow its safe removal and replacement without interrupting work or causing any data loss or downtime.
For users on the move, the WebAccess function enables users to remotely access content stored on the TeraStation from anywhere, in real time, via PC, Mac, iPhone or Android phone. The TeraStation includes NovaBACKUP Business Essentials with 10 licenses which protects data on servers locally or online. Regardless of theft, user error or hardware failure, NovaBACKUP protects and restores your data.
