30,000 Business Customers for Syncplicity
90% satisfaction rating
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 16, 2012 at 2:39 pmSyncplicity Inc., in cloud-based file sync, sharing and mobility solutions for businesses, announced record growth and momentum coming into 2012.
It experienced record growth in new customers and in the average number of users per customer account in 2011.
Syncplicity’s customer base now includes more than 30,000 businesses. Customer growth occurred across all market segments from small business to enterprises, and comes on the heels of triple-digit growth in new Business Edition signups since last fall, coupled with industry recognition for the company’s enterprise and mobile solutions.
The average Syncplicity customer places all their files and folders in their Syncplicity account for management, vastly more than traditional and web-based content management systems and other file sharing solutions, which tend to include only a small portion of a user’s files. Customer satisfaction has also risen to new highs. In a recent survey, Syncplicity achieved a 90 percent customer satisfaction rating.
Expanded Features
Syncplicity’s recently expanded mobility, security, and compliance features have garnered positive ratings from customers, recognition from industry analyst groups, and rave reviews from pundits such as TechCrunch, which recently acknowledged the company’s native Android app as one of the top-30 applications in the Android marketplace in 2011 from among the 300,000 Android apps launched.
In 2011, Syncplicity also introduced native iPhone and iPad apps, which along with Syncplicity’s Android app maintain high user ratings among all file management, sync and sharing apps in both the Apple App Store and Android Market. Syncplicity’s mobile apps, that encrypt data in transmission and on the mobile device, work with the company’s native Windows and Mac clients, across file servers, Google Docs, SharePoint and other cloud applications to give users everywhere access to all their files.
Syncplicity delivers convenience and protection because users do not have to think ahead about moving or storing files from where they already keep them in order to gain access across all their computers, mobile devices, file servers, and critical cloud-based business apps. Users gain flexibility and productivity with automated file sync and back-up features, one-click file sharing, and access to files while both online and offline.
The company is seeing growth as more organizations find themselves looking for secure, business-class solutions at the intersection of cloud computing, universal file access and sharing, and mobility. ‘Consumerization’ of technology within businesses is also driving more organizations to look for the kinds of tools that employees take for granted in their personal lives, while still giving the business the security, control and end-user supportability they need.
Getting in Front of the Consumerization of Technology
in the Workplace
The expansion of its security and compliance center for IT administrators rounded out the solution’s business capabilities to a degree of fanfare late last year. The console provides the policy control and support features enterprises need to protect data – both from attacks and end-user mistakes – and comply with industry and internal compliance requirements. It gives businesses centralized control over where data resides and transparency into where data is shared, the ability to remote wipe user data from lost devices, and native support for single sign-on against any SAML or OpenID-based identity provider including Active Directory/LDAP.
“We’re seeing a sea change in the way users demand access to documents, files and data, regardless of where they are working or what device they are using,” said Karen White, CEO of Syncplicity. “We’re moving away from an age where files and documents live in proprietary silos and towards a world where your files live everywhere you need them, no matter what device or application you are using, whether you are online or offline, and all automatically and seamless to the user. When files are unleashed from content management systems, individual devices and fixed network infrastructure and synchronized across any number of devices applications and the cloud, users can truly work seamlessly anytime, anywhere.“
In addition to increased productivity and agility in serving customers, Syncplicity customers are reporting savings of 65 percent by replacing file servers, VPN configurations, and remote access solutions. They are also reducing IT support tickets 75 percent due to a less complicated environment and Syncplicity’s self-help capabilities.
Marks from Industry Analysts
In its recent report on the company, industry analyst firm IDC gave Syncplicity high marks in the file sharing, file synchronization and backup services segment. IDC indicated file management schema as a positive contributing factor.
Industry analyst Enterprise Strategy Group also recently recognized Syncplicity’s capabilities for the business deployment of cloud storage in their recent market survey. “IT needs to address security and control up front to better enable the mobile workforce. Solutions like Syncplicity, that meet the combination of IT requirements for centralized administration and security with end user requirements for ease of access and use are well positioned to truly enable IT to offer its user base a secure mobility solution,” said Terri McClure, senior analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group. “IT would be well served to get in front of this trend proactively rather than waiting to get dragged in once its users have made their own personal bets on preferred services.”
