To support North American cloud customers
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 15, 2012 at 2:54 pmVCE Company LLC announced
that OnX Enterprise Solutions Ltd,
a North America’s independent infrastructure providers,
has deployed Vblock Infrastructure Platforms in two sites as the foundation of
its third generation cloud services expansion to service its growing client base.
Within just four months from receipt to production, OnX was able to execute on
its Vblock platform-based cloud strategy, enabling revenue-generating
activities sooner than anticipated.
OnX provides a variety of professional and
infrastructure services as well as cloud and managed services. The company,
with customers in North America and Europe, recognized that an
enterprise multi-tenant cloud environment would be a natural extension to
the dedicated private cloud computing environments they have been deploying
into client’s data centers for years. To be successful, OnX needed an
infrastructure with the flexibility to handle unpredictable end-user
demand as well as an open, standardized platform able to deploy into additional
points of presence as the company expands. After looking at
several different vendors, OnX selected VCE as the foundation of its new
offering.
Vblock Infrastructure Platforms bring togethercomputing, networking, storage, virtualization, security and management
technologies from Cisco, EMC and VMware. To support its new offering, OnX
deployed Vblock Series 300GX Infrastructure Platforms in two sites, with
business continuity and DR capabilities, to enable deployment of a range
of cloud solutions it offers to clients.
Michael Cardy, Global CTO, OnX Enterprise Solutions, said: "We chose to work with VCE because we felt
they offered a predictable, scalable and highly available solution that would
enable our business growth plans in extending our OnX Federated cloud offering
in our data centers as well as at our clients’ premises. One of our key
requirements included the need to get to market very quickly. VCE
pre-fabricated and certified the underlying infrastructure and worked with us
on every aspect of the implementation and demonstrated how to further
accelerate future capacity expansion."
Tim Page, Senior Vice President, Global Sales, VCE, said: "Fast time-to-market is one of the key
benefits of Vblock platforms, which enabled OnX to achieve a rapid return on
investment and expand its business. The agility of Vblock converged
infrastructure platforms allows OnX to help its clients in North America to
accelerate their journey to the cloud using leading technologies."
