QLogic FC Adapters Selected by HP for ProLiant Gen8 Servers

QLogic Corporation has been selected as a provider of 8Gb FC connectivity for the new HP ProLiant Generation 8 server line.

QLogic has also developed one of the first FC mezzanine adapters, the HP BLc QMH2572, for HP ProLiant Gen8 blade servers. The 8Gb FC adapter portfolio allows organizations with previous investments in 4Gb and 8Gb FC technology to migrate to HP platforms based on the new Intel Xeon processor E5-2600, preserve their applications as well as unleash up to 80 percent performance boosts offered by Xeon E5 processors. These adapters are the latest in the QLogic portfolio that includes 10GbE NIC, 10Gb converged networking adapters and 4/8Gb FC adapters selected and qualified by HP across a range of ProLiant Gen8 servers.
 
QLogic 8Gb FC technology complements the higher compute density and increased number of I/O operations that can be generated by Intel Xeon processor E5-2600-based servers by delivering full hardware offload and optimized application performance, for virtualized and cloud computing environments. Customers can preserve applications that leverage QLogic’s software stack while improving application performance, lowering power requirements and achieving greater VM scalability. HP Gen8 servers and the BLc QMH2572 adapter jointly enable higher compute densities for virtualized servers and enterprise I/O performance with reliability.
