NetApp and Proact Joining
To bring SaaS to ISVs in the UK
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 12, 2012 at 2:45 pmProact UK announced
the launch of a joint commitment with NetApp, Inc, which will assist
independent software vendors (ISVs) across the UK in delivering Software as a
Service (SaaS) to their customers.
The programme, powered by NetApp, enables ISV’s to develop and
launch their own SaaS model to their customers without the
upfront cost and risk associated. Proact’s Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
offering provides them with a platform
across multiple data centres, freeing up their team to focus on their core
business.
Proact recently launched in the UK, acquiring enterprise cloud service provider B2net.
The storage and virtualisation integrator was named NetApp partner of the year for four consecutive years. As such, the ISV
programme is an extension of their ongoing relationship.
"This new innovative
approach represents an exciting opportunity for ISVs in UK," claims
Pete Rawden, Partner Sales Director, UK & Ireland at Netapp. "Proact was the partner of choice because of
its commitment to secure, available and flexible platforms for businesses.
Every customer wants agile solutions and SaaS is the ultimate in agility. This
joint offering will allow customers to get up and running much faster."
Michelle Colley, Channel Manager at Proact says: "As the modern enterprise evolves, the
demands placed on software solutions, which drive businesses today are becoming
more complex. These demands are placing increased pressure on the ISV’s to
develop products and services that offer greater levels of agility to their
customers."
SaaS solutions are becoming more established and the dynamics of how
they are bought, sold and managed are changing, as they are being adopted by an
increasing number of enterprises. In 2012 Gartner predicts that more than 66%
of ISVs will offer their applications optionally
or exclusively as SaaS.
Dan Wajzner, Managing Director, Document Logistix Ltd, a customer signed
up to Proact SaaS comments: "The
Proact model provides a flexible and robust platform that enabled us to create
a flexible SaaS offering for new and exis-ting users of our software. It
allowed us to do what we do best: give our customers a quality service that
saves time, improves staff productivity and makes processes more efficient."
