Lighthouse Launching Data Management Cloud Services
Powered by Actifio with IBM hardware
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 8, 2012 at 3:04 pmActifio, Inc. announced that Lighthouse Computer Services, Inc. will launch a new suite of cloud services based on Actifio’s PAS platform integrated with IBM Corp.‘s hardware.
The solution from Actifio and IBM enables Lighthouse to offer multiple cloud services – including instant backup, disaster recovery, and test and development – from a single virtualized platform while reducing capital expenses by up to 90 percent. Lighthouse is now able to accelerate delivery of cloud services for its clients while delivering critical data management services at a compelling price point and an attractive cost structure.
To date, service providers and VARs have not been able to deliver on the economic promise of the cloud due to their reliance on legacy technologies and IT architectures that create silos of physical infrastructure and applications. By combining server, storage and data management virtualization technologies with a purpose-built SLA-driven operational model, Actifio and IBM remove the cost, operational and complexity barriers that have prevented partners from providing in-demand cloud-based storage solutions to their clients.
Lighthouse, which provides technology products and services to hundreds of midsize and large enterprises across the Northeast, has launched several cloud-based services including disaster recovery-on-demand, backup-as-a-service and data access on-demand.
"With the Actifio and IBM solution in place, we can offer a wide range of cloud services cost-effectively to end-users and improved SLAs," said Ernie Yenke, president, Lighthouse Computer Services. "End-to-end virtualization of the IT stack transforms IT into a cloud service, private or public, and delivers it at an unprecedented low cost point."
"Furthermore," Yenke continued, "the Actifio and IBM solution enables us to deploy a more efficient network and better manage our customers’ data, which, in turn, helps us deliver new self-service enhancements and more powerful cloud storage solutions to our clients."
Lighthouse customers can leverage these cloud services to enhance overall data production capabilities across their organizations while improving data protection services – without the added expense of opening and managing a second data center location.
"2012 is the year of cloud data management – especially for service providers and other partners," said Ash Ashutosh, CEO, Actifio. "They need to respond to the overwhelming user demand to transform IT into a service and drive down operational and capital costs immediately. The Actifio and IBM solution allows them to fulfill this urgent need for cloud services and deliver a true, long-lasting value add."
