This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 24, 2012 at 2:56 pmStordis announced the European launch of its new enterprise search appliance, offered as part of the Fujitsu NuVola Private Cloud Platform solution.
The ‘PerfectSearch powered by Fujitsu’ appliance delivers sub-millisecond response times, with ten times the performance of its nearest competitor, whilst reducing enterprise hardware requirements by as much as 90 percent.
Built on Fujitsu high performance hardware, the new appliance combines search software from Perfect Search Corporation with the Fujitsu NuVola Private Cloud Platform, to deliver security and scalability. Perfect Search’s patented software enables user to search up to a billion documents using a single appliance. The appliance uses disk-based indexing rather than memory, requiring a fraction of the hardware and reducing overall solution costs, even when compared to open source alternatives solutions.
"PerfectSearch delivers a plug and play appliance to solve companies’ growing enterprise search and Big Data needs. There is no need for DIY open-source technology or specialist consultancy," comments Stordis CEO Alexander Jeffries. "Fujitsu’s early tests with significant US customers have delivered class-leading results. The performance and efficiency of the appliance not only delivers faster search results, it reduces hardware requirements, energy consumption and administrative costs. This makes PerfectSearch dramatically cheaper than both the open source and proprietary competition in most any enterprise environments."
Originally developed by Fujitsu Frontech North America, the PerfectSearch appliance is now being exclusively marketed throughout Europe by technology distributor Stordis. PerfectSearch is the first of a series of new enterprise appliances based on the Fujitsu NuVola Private Cloud Platform that Stordis will be bringing to the European market during 2012.
