This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 23, 2012 at 2:39 pmThe Philadelphia-Area IBM Innovation Center operated by ATS Group now offers an enablement environment for IBM Storwize V7000 Unified Storage.
IBM customers and representatives of IBM Corp. and IBM Business Partners can use the Innovation Center for training, access to V7000 Unified Systems and technical expertise for product demos, and other support services. Fewer than 10 locations across North America offer similar facilities and services.
"The Innovation Center provides the IBM community an enormous opportunity to learn the details of how V7000 Unified improves upon V7000 storage and how to support the system within their business model, whether that be as a customer looking to upgrade storage or as a vendor looking for sales engineering and customer support," said Tim Conley, principal partner of ATS Group. "For example, we have the resources here-physical systems and subject matter experts-to demo V7000 Unified effectively for customer evaluation, which benefits both customers and their vendors."
V7000 Unified features include:
- Unified block and file storage with an integrated management console, which enables deployment of a set of applications from within a single storage system, especially in shared storage environments
- One unified GUI for block and file data, which simplifies data management and improves backup protection using built-in Tivoli Storage Manager client and NDMP support
Storage efficiency, saving up to 75% of space (using FlashCopy) and increasing disk utilization up to 30% - IBM Active Cloud Engine, which automates storage (saving time and cost) and enables policy-based file management with user-defined policies
- File replication and file-level snapshots, improving business continuity and disaster recovery protection
ATS Group, ranked as IBM’s #1 Regional Systems Integrator (RSI) for each of the last four years, serves as a technical advisor to IBM, IBM Business Partners, and IBM customers. ATS consistently participates in IBM beta programs for storage products such as V7000, V7000 Unified, and SVC.
ATS does not sell hardware and software, only technical expertise, which can be leveraged at the IBM Innovation Center for V7000 Unified product evaluations, implementations, and ongoing customer support.
The IBM Innovation Center is located at 1200 Atwater Drive, Suite 170, Malvern, PA 19355. Visitors are welcome to take a no-obligation personalized tour that showcases current and emerging IBM technologies coupled with ATS expertise.
