18 HP Storage Patents to Sale

Hewlett-Packard Development company, L.P., is triying
to sell several patents on storage technology:

• Lot W110909-A – Magnetic Tape: 11 patents including Patent, US6700729, generally relates to a method to achieve precision alignment of the write element of a tape head to a transport direction of the media that is transported across the tape head. The alignment element and the write element can be fabricated on the tape head using standard microelectronic photolithographic processes.
• Lot W110826-A – Optical Disks and Systems: 7 patents including Patent, US5901157, generally relates to a method for reducing the access time for storage systems. This is achieved through identifying the portion of the data within an error correction data block that is required to be changed or overwritten. Improved access time is achieved through accessing only the portion of the data block that is modified.
