Druva inSync Enterprise Supports 10,000 Users Per Server
And adds new management application, inSync Unify.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 10, 2012 at 2:56 pmDruva, Inc. announced that inSync Enterprise can now support five times more users per server (10,000 users, up from 2,000), thereby increasing the scalability of each server.
inSync Enterprise now also offers a new management application, inSync Unify, to enable a single management console across multiple inSync server installations. Druva’s scalable, block-level deduplication technology with HyperCache allows inSync to support massive amounts of users and data across any combination of physical or virtual servers.
Global Management Console inSync Unify provides organizations that deploy multiple inSync servers across multiple regions a centralized console for single-point management of enterprise backup and restore. It also provides single-point support for functions such as user management, profile administration and reporting. While eliminating the challenges of individual server management, inSync Unify also provides backup administrators many data for real-time performance optimization.
Single Sign-On and Enhanced Security
In addition, inSync now offers single sign-on capabilities through Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), an XML-based open standard for exchanging authentication and authorization data between security domains. This allows users to securely log into inSync over the Web using their credentials on external identity services, including a company’s Microsoft Active Directory.
"Documented scalability will drive laptop backup adoption, but key features such as tunable deduplication, single sign-on and centralized management will drive customer preference," said Jaspreet Singh, chairman and CEO of Druva. "With that in mind, Druva has geared inSync Enterprise to deliver the scalability, security and performance expected of an enterprise-class application. In fact, inSync Enterprise is deployed today by global leaders such as Emerson, GE Energy, KPMG, NASA, Price Waterhouse Coopers, and Sapient."
Druva, founded in 2007, has amassed more than 1,000 customers and protects more than 500,000 endpoints worldwide.
Its inSync product is an application that delivers near-instantaneous automated backups of laptop computers – with ten times the speed of competitive offerings – while enabling one-click restores of any file or backup volume from a Web browser, iPhone, iPad or Android-based device. The product offers unobtrusive backups over any network – LAN, WAN or VPN – and is WAN-optimized for the mobile user. inSync’s global, source-based deduplication reduces bandwidth and storage by 90 percent while providing 100-percent data deduplication accuracy for Outlook and Office applications.
Druva inSync Enterprise and inSync Cloud are available from Druva. Pricing for inSync Enterprise starts at $80 per inSync client; inSync Cloud starts at $2 per user per month and $1 per GB of deduped storage per month. Volume discounts are available.
