Qsan Brings Out 10GbE iSCSI RAIDs for SMBs
Starting $6,000 without HDDs (up to 192)
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 1, 2012 at 3:07 pmQsan Technology, Inc. announced several solutions, the P600Q, P500Q, P400Q and P300Q.
P400Q-DS424
These RAID systems enhance performance in applications such as video, IP surveillance, backup and archive, HPC and virtualised IT environments. To allow organisations to increase the effectiveness of their data protection strategies, these solutions feature QiSOE (Qsan iSCSI offload engine), QReplica (asynchronous remote replication via iSCSI), and QThin with ‘auto space reclamation’ technology.
P600Q, boasting Intel Xeon processors, is a 10GbE iSCSI, 6G SAS high availability RAID system offering performance of up to 640K IOPS and up to 4,000 MB/s throughput and supporting up to 192 drives.
The other systems offer:
- P400Q: also boasting Intel Xeon processors, up to 600K IOPS and up to 1,515 MB/s throughput
- P500Q: up to 220K IOPS and up to 1,300 MB/s throughput
- P300Q: up to 200K IOPS and up to 900 MB/s throughput.
All the above systems feature:
- QSnap: built into the controller, this copy-on-write snapshot technology offers 512 snapshots (32 snapshots x16 logical volume) per RAID system. It also provides instant restore/rollback of disk images with no performance impact on the host server.
- QReplica: built into the RAID system, it allows users to backup to any/multiple other Qsan system with a choice of asynchronous, full or incremental replication using manual or scheduled replication tasks. Running on Windows and Linux it offers data recovery, keeps the file system consistent in replication to minimise risk of data loss while maximising data reliability. In addition it features multi-pathing support over the redundant controllers
- QThin: Allows capacity to be written or allocated on demand without downtime, with automatic space reclamation to allow users to recycle unused space and increase utilisation rates. The ability to establish threshold settings and capacity policies offers a useful degree of automation
- QCentral: a GUI accessible anywhere that shows an overview of all system information and functionalities and gives quick access to all the storage systems.
In addition these arrays feature hot-swappable design for added data protection.
Daniel Lin, sales director at Qsan, said: "This range of IP SAN RAID systems offers a compelling combination of high specs, high performance and affordable cost. It is ideal for small and medium-sized businesses which are particularly sensitive to IT budget and scalability pressures and in fact we have already seen significant interest from existing and new customers."
New RAID systems are available from the company’s network of reseller partners at a starting price of $6,000 not including the disk drives.
