TwinStrata Ended 2011 With 150 customers

It ended 2011 with more than 150 customers, a 500 percent increase from year-end 2010, and the amount of data its customers are storing in the cloud tripled during the same period.
This growth is attributed to the introduction of product innovations throughout the year, as well as distribution partnerships with DataCore Software and Veeam Software, an expanded international reseller channel, and support for the ecosystem of cloud storage providers.
TwinStrata CloudArray is a storage gateway to enable integration of legacy storage devices into cloud SANs, which combine public cloud, private cloud and existing SAN, NAS or DAS storage into a flexible, cost-effective infrastructure that delivers better data access to users. Other 2011 enhancements provided customers with a innovations to improve ease of use, performance, internationalization and data recovery from the cloud.
TwinStrata and DataCore partnered to deliver a storage virtualization solution featuring the CloudArray cloud storage gateway in combination with the DataCore SAN symphony-V storage hypervisor software to provide a secure way for enterprises to cost effectively tier their storage infrastructure into the cloud. The company also announced that Veeam began distributing a free 1TB CloudArray appliance to all Veeam Backup & Replication customers.
Internationally, TwinStrata extended its reach to Iceland, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, and Australia while continuing to add domestic partners as well.
In addition, the company provideq a replacement of primary storage, tape and backup software for the Los Angeles Unified School District, the largest public school system in California and second largest public school district in the U.S., with an initial 15 site deployment; and at National Lloyds & American Summit Insurance, which was able to deploy a Cloud SAN by combining cloud storage with its existing SAN infrastructure for increased storage capacity and ‘like-local’ access to cloud data.
Company leaders shared their vision for cloud storage at several industry events throughout the year while media and analysts selected TwinStrata for several awards. TwinStrata was named Champion in Info-Tech Research Group’s Cloud Backup Vendor Landscape report, and was a winner of the Red Herring North American 100 and Global 100 awards.
