StorageCraft ShadowControl ImageManager 5 Released in Europe

StorageCraft Technology Corporation, a provider backup, disaster recovery, system migration and data protection solutions for servers, desktops and laptops, announces the European release of ShadowControl ImageManager 5, software designed to help manage, customize and enhance the backup process.

ShadowControl ImageManager increases control over backup images created with ShadowProtect, allowing users to more efficiently manage physical, virtual or cloud backups. Tools and services included with the software can replicate backup images to the cloud, pre-stage backups as virtual machines, consolidate backup image files and monitor and manage backup files.

New features include:

• ShadowStream accelerates the transfer of backup image files off-site up to five times faster than traditional file transfer by controlling bandwidth capacity.
• intelligentFTP filters files for replication locally, to the network, or to an off-site location, whether it’s every incremental backup or just backup files that have been verified.
• HeadStart Restore reduces the recovery window by proactively constructing a set of backup images as a virtual machine, saving critical time by allowing the user to restore the system in minutes.

In addition, ShadowControl ImageManager provides management tools that verify and re-verify backup image files over time to make sure they are still intact. It can also consolidate backup image files and follow retention parameters both locally and in the cloud, saving on-site and off-site storage space. Users can set up email notifications to track the status of backup images.
