Nasuni Increased Bookings Tenfold From 4Q10 to 4Q11
And doubled number of enterprise customers.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 26, 2012 at 2:54 pmNasuni Corp., an enterprise storage company, announced results from 2011, a year in which the company refocused its storage solution from the SMB market to the enterprise, finally enabling the enterprise to bring the power of cloud into its data center.
In July, Nasuni introduced a SLA, which guarantees 100 percent uptime and significant penalties if the services are unavailable even for just a few minutes. The company followed up the SLA with the rollout of multi-site access, which enables any number of sites around the globe to safely and securely access the same storage volume with performance on par with a local file server. Each location accesses the shared data set through a virtual or physical appliance, whose local storage footprint can be just a fraction of the size of the complete set of shared data. All files are encrypted with customer-controlled keys before leaving their data centers.
"Nasuni helps us leverage the cloud in a way we hadn’t thought of before – really, a new way to solve an old problem," said Joe Cruz, IT Technical Director at The Wharton School. "They offer what we need and more: a comprehensive storage services solution that used to require separate local and remote backup, disaster recovery, and security products. Guaranteed. Not only that, we get access from multiple sites on the same platform, precise control over retention of data, and the RTO after a disaster is reduced to minutes! Storage services from Nasuni is what storage should have been all along."
From 4Q10 to 4Q11, Nasuni:
- Increased bookings more than tenfold;
- Doubled the number of enterprise customers it serves;
- Tripled the number of upgrades from existing customers; and
- Grew its international business tenfold.
"There is nothing in storage that can do what Nasuni does," said Dave Kluger Principal Technology Architect at StorCOM, Inc. "Customers love it. They may start with a few terabytes and upgrade to more capacity as needed. Nasuni has a first class partner program that has provided all the tools to allow us to ramp very quickly. Storage services are here to stay, and Nasuni is allowing us to gradually shift our traditional storage business to the new model."
"We have seen strong interest from organizations that need to deliver a consistent level of IT service globally," said Andres Rodriguez, CEO of Nasuni. "In 2009, the enterprise was not ready for the cloud, so we made our services widely available to businesses of all sizes which provided an extensive battle test for every component in the system. We then asked our biggest customers what was missing. They asked for a unified storage service with a strong SLA. We delivered. They also wanted a secure infrastructure to store and synchronize data globally. So we delivered multi-site access, a first in storage."
"Our DNA is enterprise storage," Rodriguez continued. "In 2011 we evolved the traditional controller architecture beyond what anyone thought was possible. Expect even bigger things from Nasuni this year."
