To include multi-destination, cross-platform backup onsite, offsite and online

The Enterprise Device Alliance (EDA) announced that Code 42 Software, creators of CrashPlan, the onsite, offsite and online backup solutions for consumers, businesses and the enterprise, is the newest member of the alliance.

By joining the EDA, Code 42 has extended the categories of cross-platform integration that the EDA represents to include multi-destination, cross-platform backup onsite, offsite and online. Code 42 developed CrashPlan software, personal backup and enterprise disaster recovery solutions that support Mac, Windows, Linux, and Solaris computers and the iOS, Android, and Windows Phone mobile operating systems.

"Code 42′s enterprise backup solutions meet the needs of organizations who must protect and access data on PCs, Macs and other systems as well as iPhones, iPads and Android devices," said T. Reid Lewis, president of the Enterprise Device Alliance, and president of GroupLogic. "We are delighted to welcome Code 42 Software to the EDA as Apple devices continue to expand their penetration of larger organizations world-wide."

"Code 42 enthusiastically supports the Enterprise Device Alliance goal of helping organizations understand the options available to them as they integrate, manage and protect a diverse array of desktops and mobile devices," said Robert Casserly, vice president of business development and sales at Code 42. "CrashPlan has the cross-platform and mobile support that eases the administrative burden for IT managers in these sophisticated environments."
