Link_A_Media Devices Releasing Second-Gen eBoost SSD Technology

It achieved 90,000 program/erase cycles.

Link_A_Media Devices Corporation (LAMD), in custom semiconductor SoC solutions for data storage, has released endurance measurements for SSDs utilizing its second generation of proprietary eBoost technology.

LAMD’s eBoost technology increases the endurance of both standard and enterprise grade NAND Flash. SSDs with eBoost technology have achieved 90,000 program/erase cycles measured under JEDEC compliant test methods on enterprise grade MLC NAND Flash.

This level of endurance exceeds the requirements of the most demanding enterprise applications such as transaction processing and high-performance search engines which require critical throughput, response-time and endurance attributes.

LAMD’s improvement in endurance is realized without sacrificing performance due to eBoost’s adaptive algorithms that use advanced channel estimation methodology.

Independent measurements have shown the LAMD FlashLINK platform solution with eBoost technology provides performance and minimal latencies under extreme SPC-1C workloads. The expanding cloud computing service industry with its virtual server infrastructure requires terabytes of virtual memory and high performance SSDs to operate effectively. SSDs manufactured on LAMD’s FlashLINK platform with eBoost technology are suited for these virtual environments because they provide minimal swap latencies while consuming the lowest system power of any storage solution. Through eBoost technology, LAMD delivers differentiating performance and endurance to mission-critical enterprise SSDs, enabling their deployment in data centers and the expansion of the cloud computing industry.

"LAMD has been researching the behavior of NAND Flash devices for over four years," stated Dr. Hemant Thapar, CEO of LAMD. "In this, our second generation of adaptive eBoost technology, our team has again dramatically advanced the data recovery technologies for NAND media and delivered industry leading endurance without compromising system performance," concluded Dr. Thapar.

LAMD’s FlashLINK platform with eBoost technology has been qualified and supports all major NAND manufacturers.
