GreenBytes GB-X Qualified for Backup Exec

GreenBytes, Inc.
announced that its GB-X Series of utility storage appliances have
been qualified for use with Backup Exec through the Symantec OpenStorage
Technology (OST) program.

By using GreenBytes’ GB-X Series storage appliances
in combination with Symantec OST, users will be able to enjoy the
integrated deduplication capabilities of the GB-X Series along with the
performance and scalability that GreenBytes’ appliances
offer, providing a complete storage solution designed to deliver the lowest TCO
and highest ROI for the SMB market.

GreenBytes
and Symantec customers benefit from the OST integration by utilizing Backup
Exec, which provides a single point of management for all data protection
operations. GB-X Series appliances are administered from Microsoft
Management Console (MMC) using custom plug-ins to enable administration
of even the most complex data storage scenarios.
