This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 26, 2011 at 2:56 pmDEONET, Dutch manufacturer of promotional products such as USB sticks, introduces the smallest USB-stick in the world.
This USB stick has been made with a new kind of memory chip for USB sticks, called the Micro UDP chip. It is less than half the size of the classic USB memory chip.
The new Micro UDP-chip measures 19,5 x 14,5 mm, barely the size of a fingertop, and it is 2,9 mm thin. It is available in 4, 8 and 16GB and will be introduced in January at the biggest business fair for promotional gifts in Europe, PSI Düsseldorf.
"For years, DEONET noticed a high demand for user friendly and compact USB sticks. With the development of the Micro UDP-chip, we continue being innovative in the USB market", according Rob van Berkom, CEO of DEONET. "This new technique enables us to introduce very small USB solutions."
The main advantage is that the USB stick is small enough to keep it in a wallet or hang it on a bunch of keys. In addition, It is so small it barely protrudes of the USB port of the PC and laptop. This makes it possible to leave the USB stick in the laptop, even if it’s stored in a bag.
Golden USB stick
The USB stick is just one of the original USB sticks with which DEONET distinguishes itself from competitors. DEONET’s golden USB stick with diamants, the most expensive USB stick in the market at that moment, attracted a lot of attention from the international press a couple of years ago.
