TwinStrata CloudArray Compatible With OpenStack

TwinStrata, Inc. announced its CloudArray storage gateway is compatible with OpenStack platform for public and private clouds.

TwinStrata CloudArray supports a broad ecosystem of cloud storage providers and is a cloud gateway provider to allow customers to deploy Cloud SANs that comprise of public clouds, private clouds and existing SAN, NAS or DAS storage.

Founded by NASA and Rackspace Hosting, OpenStack is open source software for building private and public clouds and is supported by a community of software developers who collaborate on a standard and massively scalable open-source cloud OS. Corporations, service providers, VARs, SMBs, researchers, and global data centers use OpenStack to deploy large-scale private or public clouds running on standard hardware.

CloudArray includes support for the OpenStack-based HP Cloud Private Beta. HP Cloud Object Storage provides secure, scalable, and reliable online storage capacity on-demand that can be securely accessed via CloudArray’s iSCSI interface.

More than 60 companies from over a dozen countries participate in OpenStack, including Cisco, Citrix, Dell, HP, Intel and Microsoft. Hypervisor support includes Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer, Xen, KVM, VMware ESX, LXC, QEMU, and UML.

CloudArray storage gateways enable companies to deploy private clouds utilizing their own existing SAN, NAS or DAS storage infrastructures. TwinStrata’s ‘Zero Friction’ deployment and three-step configuration enables global access to Cloud SANs in minutes. Centralized capacity management and DR eliminate concerns about remote sites running out of storage, and the need to administer backup and data protection operations across sites.

The CloudArray family of solutions ranges from off-site backups and storage tiering to applications, including Exchange, SharePoint and SQL Server, as well as virtually any block-based storage application.
