Shane Robison Board’s Director, Fusion-io

Retired HP CTO

Fusion-io, Inc. announced that its Board of Directors has elected Shane V. Robison, age 58, as a Director of the company, effective immediately.  

shane_robison_fusionio Robison served as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Technology Officer of Hewlett-Packard Company from May 2002 until he retired on November 1, 2011. He will serve on the Board’s Audit Committee and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Robison had been a technology executive in Silicon Valley for three decades. At HP, Robison was responsible for shaping HP’s corporate strategy and technology agenda along with overseeing the company’s initiatives around incubating innovation. He was instrumental in steering the company’s multi-billion dollar research and development investment, and as head of strategy and corporate development, he was in charge of mergers and acquisitions, venture capital relationships, global strategic alliances, as well as HP’s Cloud Services and Business Solutions groups. Prior to HP, he served as SVP and Chief Strategy and Technology Officer at Compaq and as president of Internet Technology and Development at AT&T Labs, where he led a team responsible for the architecture, planning and development of AT&T’s Internet technologies and services. Robison has also served in leadership positions at Cadence Design, Apple Computer and Schlumberger Research. In 2004, Robison was named one of the world’s 25 most influential chief technology officers by InfoWorld. He is a frequent speaker on technology trends and innovation.

Robison holds a B.S. and a M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Utah.
