Quantum Surpassing 60,000 StorNext Client Licenses Sold

Quantum Corp. has sold more than 60,000 StorNext File System client licenses worldwide.

This milestone signifies Quantum’s continued leadership in enabling organizations to extract value from their big data content by tackling the complexities involved in managing, sharing and archiving extremely large files. It also demonstrates StorNext’s expanded reach in media and entertainment, public safety, defense and intelligence, life sciences and other markets with increasing volumes of big data. Building on this milestone, Quantum also announced that the StorNext Q-Series Storage systems and the StorNext AEL500 Archive appliance are now generally available for purchase.

In early September, Quantum announced an expansion to its StorNext appliance family, and these latest solutions are now generally available. Built to leverage StorNext software, they deliver unparalleled performance, flexibility and cost-effectiveness for big data management.

The new StorNext Q-Series Storage offerings are disk-based systems that are optimized, validated and supported by Quantum for use in StorNext environments. They can be purchased through Quantum and its worldwide channel partners as an optional storage solution along with StorNext software and StorNext appliances. Base model list price begins at $96,000.

Additionally, Quantum is now shipping the StorNext AEL500 Archive, a cost-effective tiered storage solution with long-term data integrity checking and slot-based pricing.

This midrange unit, as well as the StorNext AEL6000 for enterprise environments, is available now through Quantum and its worldwide channel partners. Base model list price for the StorNext AEL500 is $101,000.
