Infortrend Embraces SSDs From Hitachi, Intel, Stec
On ESVA, EonStor DS and EonNAS
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 13, 2011 at 3:04 pmDue to its high performance and ability to withstand system shocks and vibrations, solid state storage is on the rise. As prices have gradually come down to more acceptable levels, SSDs are becoming increasingly popular in the data storage market.
Focused on helping its end users realize the advantages of deploying SSDs in storage arrays, Infortrend Technology, Inc. offers SSD support on its ESVA, EonStor DS and EonNAS storage solutions to help SMBs and mid-range enterprises working with SAN, NAS or DAS configurations optimize storage performance and increase reliability.
Thomas Kao, director of product planning at Infortrend, noted: "Infortrend is committed to making SSDs available on as many storage arrays as possible and enabling users to keep up with the continuing increase in IT datacenter demands."
On ESVA, Infortrend’s mid-range storage solution, SSDs can be integrated in that solution’s automated storage tiering architecture. With SSDs deployed in the highest storage tier, storage performance can be increased by up to 150 percent when compared to a non-tiered configuration at no additional costs.
EonStor DS is an entry-level storage solution aimed at SMBs, offering reliable data storage with a set of data protection features. EonNAS offers unified storage solutions that help SMBs and mid-range enterprises simultaneously serve file-based and block-based applications.
Infortrend currently supports SSDs from industry-leading vendors including Intel, STEC and Hitachi, which are available in a variety of capacities.
