Dell Boomi Developed Cloud Master Data Management Solution

Trademark of Dell Inc., Dell Boomi, a large integration cloud, announced development of a cloud-based master data management (MDM) solution, which will offer improved capabilities to simplify data management within cloud and SaaS application integration for medium and large enterprises.

Building on Boomi’s AtomSphere offering, this MDM platform enables companies of all sizes to help ensure their master customer, item/product, vendor, and employee data is clean, accurate and consistent, all within an adaptable, cloud-based environment.

Taking the Task out of Master Data Management
To date, poor data quality costs enterprises billions of dollars annually and without clean, consistent, and accurate master data, any business integration initiative will result in inaccurate or incomplete data, forcing users to resort to other less-reliable products to get reliable business information. This problem has been addressed to date with multi-year, multi-million dollar engagements with limited results and ROI. Even more, the adoption of the cloud is proliferating the data quality challenge because now master data fundamentally exists in more applications, sometimes even without IT’s knowledge.

Addressing these issues, Boomi’s MDM solution is a program that helps ensure consistent, standard, high quality data across an organization. Adopting a cloud approach, MDM solution enables users to conduct all setup, configuration and management from a Web browser in a single instance, multi-tenant environment. It will also feature a portable master data store that provides a variety of setup options and enables MDM for any combination of SaaS and on-premise applications.

Dell Boomi Master Data Management offers:

• Modeling: the ability to define and model all of your master data to your needs.
• Storage: Long term, secure storage of all master data. Boomi will provide cloud storage or enable customers to setup their own master data store.
• Synchronization: Working in concert with AtomSphere, this MDM will have the ability to synchronize the relevant changes made to master data across applications as needed, with intelligence that identifies what is the system of record for corresponding sets of data.
• Validation: MDM will provide a means to discover and reconcile duplicate records, while also enriching data as it is being managed to fill in missing or incomplete information.

In addition to these core offerings, MDM solution will also leverage the power of Boomi’s other technologies, including the popular Boomi Suggest, making this MDM solution the easiest to set up and use.
