Storage Fusion Adds Enterprise Edition for SAN
New release of SRM Storage Resource Analysis
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 29, 2011 at 3:15 pmStorage Fusion Ltd. announced a new release of its SRA (Storage Resource Analysis) solution, SRA Enterprise Edition, an automated storage assessment software delivered using Software as a Service (SaaS).
In a few hours, through detailed dashboards and flexible reports, SRA Enterprise Edition helps organizations gain transparency of the heterogeneous storage estate, avoid capital expenditure by reclaiming petabytes of unused storage capacity and understand exactly what is at risk.
Compared to the services offered by traditional SRM tools, Storage Fusion’s technology offers immediate results (e.g. 17 man days vs. 2 hours) along with quicker and higher ROI. Enterprises rely on SRA Enterprise Edition to gain visibility into their SAN and optimize their storage environments.
SRA Enterprise Edition offers enterprises five key dashboards that summarize capacity, configuration, performance tiering, environmentals (power and heat) and virtualization and thin provisioning metrics.
Further detailed information can be accessed using the predefined reports, of which there are now over 50, providing detailed analysis right down to each LUN. Over time, trending dashboards and reports are also automatically created allowing enterprises to understand their growth patterns and forecast future storage requirements.
Also included is the Ad Hoc Report Writer, which makes it easy to create custom reports and graphs.
Compared to alternative products, SRA Enterprise Edition is agentless and doesn’t need any on-site hardware or software. Ultimately the Storage Fusion solution enables enterprises to reduce the time they spend fire-fighting and instead create sound capacity plans to assist with the delivery of IT services. SRA Enterprise Edition is already being used by some of Storage Fusion partners and two of the top five storage vendors.
"Until now storage professionals have been at the mercy of traditional technology, which has made it nearly impossible to get a holistic and clear view of what is going on across a company’s storage resources," said Owen Curtis, Vice President R&D, at Storage Fusion. "SRA Enterprise Edition is completely vendor-independent and therefore gives an unbiased insight into the storage estate. For many of our customers, to deploy SRA is like switching the light on in their SAN for the first time."
Storage Fusion SRA Enterprise Edition is available through the company and its technology partners at a starting price of £5,000.
Endorsed by some leading vendors, technology providers and enterprises SRA is being used for many different types of projects including:
- SAN assessments
- Capacity planning
- Virtualisation and thin provisioning
- Metrics analysis and trending
- Vendor rationalisation
- SAN health checks
- Internal charge-back
- Cloud migration
- Configuration exceptions
- Asset tracking
- SAN audits
- Stage reclaim
- Tiering
- Data centre migration
- Technology refreshes
SRA is developed and maintained by teams in Welwyn Garden City, United Kingdom.
