Unigen Launching Triton 3100 MLC SSDs
Up to 640GB, in 2.5-, 1.8-inch and MO300 form factors
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 24, 2011 at 2:56 pmUnigen Corporation, an OEM designer and manufacturer of enterprise SSDs and DRAM modules, is releasing its SATA II Triton 3100 Series SSDs offering capacities, performance, and endurance for the client enterprise market.
Equipped with synchronous MLC flash, the Triton 3100 Series at 640GB is a choice for the cost-conscience buyer looking for increased capacity. With performance that can sustain writes of up to 270MB/s, equally for both data patterns of low and high entropy, the Triton 3100 Series is for application workloads typical to the HPC and Web 2.0 market segments.
With its external mobile 128MB DDR DRAM, the Triton 3100 Series manages block tables, while wear-leveling algorithms execute the even distribution of writes, resulting in write endurance. In addition Unigen’s Triton 3100 Series employs the write-through cache and data protection mechanisms to ensure data integrity in the event of an unexpected power loss.
“The Triton 3100 Series complements our current enterprise-focused SSD product offerings,” said Paul Heng, CEO of Unigen Corp. “It’s an exceptional value to those looking for a cost effective, large capacity, reliable and enduring storage solution.”
Unigen’s Triton 3100 Series supports both MLC and SLC NAND flash and is available in 2.5-inch, 1.8-inch, and MO300 form factors.
Samples of Unigen’s Triton 3100 Series are available.
