Symantec Unveiled MSP Strategy

For backup and security solutions as managed services

Symantec
Corporation
unveiled its Managed Service Provider (MSP) strategy, designed to make it
easier and more cost effective for partners to deliver Symantec’s marke backup and security solutions as managed services.

Symantec is
committed to providing service providers with trusted solutions, flexible
deployment options and programs that enable them to differentiate
their services, maximize opportunities and accelerate profitability.

Through new
and expanded integration with remote monitoring and management
(RMM) platforms and new cloud-based offerings, Symantec is helping partners
more effectively deliver and manage multiple products and services while
minimizing added overhead costs. Symantec’s MSP strategy also includes the ExSP
Licensing Program
, a pay-as-you go subscription licensing model designed for
service providers, and a recently enhanced SMB Specialization program with
benefits for service provider partners, including partner-specific technical
support offerings.

RMM Integration:

Symantec
Backup Exec 2010, Backup Exec 2010 for Windows Small Business Server, Symantec
Endpoint Protection 12.1, and Endpoint Protection 12.1 Small Business Edition
integrate with leading RMM platforms, including Kaseya, LabTech, Level
Platforms
, and N-able. This integration allows Symantec partners to deploy, monitor, and manage their customer’s backup and security solutions to
reduce costs and deliver improved service to their customers.

Innovation in Cloud Security and Backup:
Symantec
Backup Exec 2010 now delivers private cloud services to enable partner to
backup and manage multiple customers through a single, secure Backup Exec
console and provide integrated off-site protection through any partner
infrastructure. Backup Exec private cloud services are free to customers and
partners on maintenance today and is customizable so that it can be
leveraged with or without RMM platform integration.

In addition,
Symantec partners can leverage and tie Symantec cloud-based security and backup
products into their existing MSP offerings. Symantec Backup Exec.cloud and
Symantec Endpoint Protection.cloud are quick to set-up and can be managed
through a console hosted in the cloud by Symantec. For many smaller IT
environments this is an optimal solution as it doesn’t require any added
hardware investment and both partners and customers can benefit from Symantec’s
subscription-based licensing model.

Partner
Program Benefits:

Symantec’s
ExSP licensing Program offers Symantec partners of all sizes the choice of
buying Symantec software in a monthly subscription-based model, providing them
with greater flexibility in how they deliver solutions to their customers. The
program rewards service partners for their growth by reducing licensing costs
as their volume of business increases. The Symantec ExSP Licensing Program is
open to partners enrolled in Symantec’s Partner Program who are qualified
service providers.

In addition,
North American partners enrolled in Symantec’s SMB Specialization program now
have access to partner-only support providing them access to more
qualified technical support professionals. Symantec’s SMB Specialization
provides opportunities for SMB partners who display knowledge and experience in
a solution area or market to drive predictable, profitable growth.
