SANBlaze: ATCA SAS/SATA JBOD Blade
For up to ten SATA/SSD or six SAS disks per slot
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 17, 2011 at 2:56 pmSANBlaze Technology, Inc. announced the SB-ATCA2020 AdvancedTCA carrier board that provides in-chassis JBOD expansion for up to ten SATA/SSD or six SAS disks per ATCA slot.
All disks are standard industry 2.5" form factor.
With its mechanical front design, the SB-ATCA2020 blade accommodates up to eight compact height or four full height disk modules. Users may add two additional disks via SANBlaze RTM (Rear Transition Modules). Users install disk modules through front access slots and lock into place with a quarter turn of its handle.
"The ATCA2020 is the perfect complement to our ATCA2000 storage Blade and RTMs which in combination offer the highest density of serviceable RAID solutions in an ATCA form factor," said Steve Looby, Director of Product Management. "With the ATCA2020, we’ve doubled the capacity for In-chassis storage solutions, now boasting 12TB; our customers are able to architect new and more powerful network edge applications deployed on modular, homogenous ATCA platforms."
The SB-ATCA2020 offers a choice of host connections:
- Cable-less: x5 SAS routed over zone 2 update channel
- Cabled: x4 SAS IB connector on the RTM.
The ATCA2020 integrates standard components, including SAS expander technology from LSI Corporation, which auto negotiates all SAS/links to a maximum speed of 6Gbps, with backward compatibility to 3.0 and 1.5 Gbps.
The SB-ATCA2020 design offers optimal thermal and power characteristics.
The SB-ATCA2020 is available for evaluation and deployments.
