IBM DS5020 Supports New FC-SAS Drives

300/900GB 10,000rpm HDDs and 200GB/400GB SSD

IBM System Storage DS5020 midrange disk systems now offers the following features:

300 GB and 900 GB 10,000 rpm FC-SAS disk drive module
200 GB and 400 GB FC-SAS SSD

These drives utilize a 6Gb SAS disk drive fitted with a SAS to FC interposer. With 520 byte sector formatting, these drives can be used with the T10 Protection Information (T10 PI) function recently introduced on the DS5020.

All features are supported
on the DS5020 Storage Controller
and EXP520 Expansion Unit and require:

Controller firmware level 07.77, or later
DS Storage Manager 10.77, or later
