TDK’s Update: State of Damage by Flood in Thailand
Wangnoi plant of Magnecomp resumed operation.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 10, 2011 at 2:51 pmTDK Corporation (President: Takehiro Kamigama) announces the damage to its consolidated subsidiaries in Thailand caused by the flood due to heavy rain since July as follows:
- Update as of November 8: The Wangnoi Plant of Magnecomp Precision Technology Public Co., Ltd. that suffered no water immersion damage has resumed operation in part from November 7th and is set toward increasing the operation rates. The Wangnoi Plant of TDK Thailand Co., Ltd. that also suffered no water-immersion damage is now working to resume operation in early December.
- Damages to plants in the Rojana District: Following the last report (2nd) on October 18th of the state of Rojana Plants of both TDK Thailand Co., Ltd. and Magnecomp Precision Technology Public Co., Ltd., the state of damages are currently being assessed. Both plants are inundated by floodwater and operation has been suspended since October 9th. The products of these plants are now being produced at substitution plants.
News about the state of TDK group companies as affected by the flood will be released as soon as revealed. All inconveniences caused to our customers are very much regretted, but we request for customers’ kind understanding.
