John Beletic President and CEO, XIO (Formerly Xiotech)
Replacing Alan Atkinson becoming chairman
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 9, 2011 at 2:56 pmXIO announced a series of key executive moves aimed at accelerating the company’s record growth behind the groundbreaking Hyper ISE platform.
The moves are led by the addition of John D. Beletic in the role of XIO president and CEO. He brings nearly 30 years of defining and driving operational excellence in a range of highly competitive technology markets. With the addition of Beletic, Alan Atkinson has been elevated to the role of chairman of the board with a focus on strategic business development and international growth.
These changes come as XIO has completed its transition from its legacy Magnitude storage line to a complete focus on ISE-based storage, and specifically the Hyper ISE platform – which is hailed as the first "unbreakable storage system for Microsoft." Hyper ISE was delivered to market in the Summer of 2011, represented the fastest product ramp in the company’s history and now represents 80 percent of XIO’s business.
"In the nearly two years that I have been with XIO, the company has experienced an incredible period of innovation and growth," said Atkinson. "With the overwhelming reception of the Hyper ISE platform, the ability to bring John on board and allow me to focus on strategic growth initiatives, strengthens a bench that can drive what we have built to its full potential."
The company has also re-aligned its sales team to reflect its increased focus on the channel. As part of this effort, XIO today also announced the promotions of Shawn Kinnear and Dave Ornstein to vice presidents of sales for the Western and Eastern US regions respectively.
Kinnear has been with the company for six years and brings over 20 years of sales and sales management experience in the technology industry including Cotelligent, Quest Software and Computer Associates.
Ornstein has been with the company three years. He has over 15 years of technology sales and sales management in both direct and indirect models including positions at both Compaq and HP.
Kinnear and Ornstein will be responsible for all sales and pre-sales activities and be instrumental in setting go to market strategies for XIO. They replace recently departed VP of worldwide sales, Mark Glasgow.
"Having served as both a senior executive and an investor in high growth companies, I’ve been able to see the opportunities and challenges faced by corporate teams from many different angles," added Beletic. "XIO is a company that has the potential to be truly disruptive in multiple markets with exceptional growth opportunities. I am excited to have the opportunity to benefit from the great foundation that Alan and his team have built, and take it to the next level."
Beletic joins XIO after nearly a decade serving as venture partner and board member of numerous firms while at Oak Investment Partners. Prior to Oak, Beletic spent nearly 25 years in senior executive roles – principally as president and chief executive officer – of high-growth technology and communications companies including Tigon, PageMart and Weblink Wireless. He is currently chairman of the board of iPass, Inc. and lead director of Tessco Technologies. Previously, he also served on the boards of Scale Eight and Data Return.
Beletic received a BSBA in Finance summa cum laude from Xavier University and an MBA with high distinction from the Harvard Business School.
