Xsigo Systems, Inc. announced a number of
senior appointments in Europe as the latest
stage in its growth strategy.
Specifically, the new hires will cover the
following territories:
- Ulrich Barnewitz:
DACH and Eastern Europe; - Nick Dunn: UK and Ireland;
- Koen Van den Berg: Benelux;
and - Johan Hultgren: Nordic region.
They will all hold the role of regional manager for their countries and be
tasked with the local development of Xsigo’s presence and market share.
"Ulrich, Nick, Johan and Koen all
know their regional markets inside out and are familiar with the challenges our
customers face as they migrate to flexible computing infrastructures,"
said Mark Hardy, director of EMEA at Xsigo. "Xsigo’s growing market adoption makes this a perfect time to expand our
reach further across Europe. With the addition
of these experts to our team we look forward to continued success in our EMEA
expansion."
"I am thrilled to join the Xsigo
team and I look forward to furthering Xsigo’s EMEA momentum that is already
underway. Xsigo offers unique infrastructure virtualisation capabilities and a
passion for customer service that make the company a perfect fit for my ideals
and a highly valuable partner for IT managers across EMEA as they transition to
next-generation data centre designs," said Ulrich, regional manager
for DACH and Eastern Europe at Xsigo.
Dunn was until recently UK Country manager at Virtensys. Before that he held the same position at EqualLogic, which he joined after
spending seven years at NetApp. He brings Xsigo tangible experience in growing
sales and revenues and in leading teams to become recognised players in their
markets.
A member of the England
fly fishing team, Dunn is just as excited to be joining Xsigo. "I have been in the I/O virtualisation space
for two years and the technology is now at a stage where it can be deployed in
most datacentres and make a significant impact on performance and cost. Xsigo
is at the forefront of this market and I am confident that, with the help of
our channel, we can deliver solutions and support that will quickly address our
customer’s most compelling needs," commented Dunn, regional manager
for the UK and Ireland
at Xsigo.
Hultgren comes to Xsigo from Brocade
(via the Foundry Networks acquisition), where he was Regional Channel Manager
for Nordics and the Baltics. He also
spent five years at Nortel. During
his career Heltgren worked with many end users including AstraZeneca, Ericsson and Electrolux; he also built relationships
with partners such as Dell, HDS, IBM, HP,
and Proact.
"
I chose to join Xsigo because I
wanted to move to a fast-growing sector such as I/O virtualisation and work for
a company with a dynamic, results-oriented culture where individuals can make a
difference," said Johan Hultgren, Regional Manager for the Nordics at
Xsigo. "Since joining I have
witnessed a high level of interest in our solutions by several prospects and I
am also in discussion with a number of local resellers who see us as a great
fit for their portfolios."
Van den Berg moved to Xsigo after three years at NetApp, and seven at IBM. During his career he worked
closely with OEM and channel partners, developed sales and marketing strategies
for vertical markets and managed the software/hardware/services value chain.
"Having held roles at large
industry-leading companies has allowed me to hone a range of skills in a highly
competitive environment and I am now ready to apply this knowledge to make
Xsigo the I/O virtualisation vendor of choice in the Nordics,"
remarked Koen Van den Berg, regional manager for Benelux at Xsigo
