European Electronique, with its track record in infrastructure services for
schools, is a partner for Scale Computing to realise opportunities in
the UK education market, which is seeing academies and schools increasingly
running 24/7 environments with collaborative and flexible learning
environments. European Electronique is a partner to deliver Scale
Computing’s unified, scale-out storage solutions, as it has projects across a
variety of schools, academies and further education colleges throughout the UK.

Though the UK
education sector is facing continual pressure to deliver increasing attainment
targets and efficiency savings against a backdrop of unprecedented budget
constraints and reduced resources, many are implementing server and desktop
virtualisation to deliver these projected benefits. With schools generating
ever increasing amounts of data across numerous departments and multiple sites,
it is becoming important for each school to have a flexible and
centralised storage hub that can accommodate the growing data management and
access demands as well as reduced maintenance costs.

European Electronique has experience of delivering innovative,
customised ICT solutions and accredited status in the UK Government Academy
Programme. With industry benchmarks such as approved supplier status for the
Department for Education’s ICT Services Framework Agreement, the company is
driving transformation forward in education establishments and delivering
scalable solutions for schools and colleges through
Scale Computing’s ICOS (Intelligent Clustered Operating System) solutions.

David Turton, enterprise solutions specialist, European Electronique, commented: "Scale Computing provides
good, flexible, honest storage as its 3 node cluster of 6TB is actually 6TB of
useable space, unlike competitive options, which require the application of
certain levels of conditioning and RAID reducing the systems’ flexibility.
"

David Turton, continued: "The Scale
Computing team has been behind us every step of the way from demonstrations,
implementation and targeted information for educational and specialist IT
personnel alike. From speaking to our customers, we have found that Scale’s
solution is easy to manage, cost efficient and enables the ICT staff to focus
on their core responsibilities and projects that help the installation rather
than losing valuable time to system troubleshooting
."

Simon Marrion, EMEA Channel Development Director, Scale Computing, commented:
"We are delighted to announce the
availability of our storage solutions through European Electronique. The
company’s strong heritage in education is a great opportunity for us to further
build our expertise in this sector in the UK. Our portfolio provides the much
needed flexibility, greater ease of manageability and the capacity and
performance needed to further support the education sector in driving down
costs
."

European Electronique is an accredited partner with Scale Computing and through
its partner programme, Scale is providing the training and marketing
support for the team, with 75% of those working at European Electronique
trained in Scale Computing’s storage solutions, benefits and usability.
