Vision Solutions Announces Double-Take Share 5.0

Vision Solutions, Inc. announced Double-Take Share 5.0, which allows users to share data between databases in real-time.

Double-Take Share 5.0 provides on-demand data sharing between all leading database types in real-time. The software breaks barriers imposed by multiple databases, incompatible applications and disparate platforms making it easy to capture, replicate, transform and share information for productivity, profitability and ROI.

Based on open standards and Java technology, Double-Take Share’s table-based GUI comes with more than 60 prebuilt transformations and requires no programming, which reduces administrative time and improves productivity.

In addition to rebranding the Vision Replicate1 data-sharing product to Double-Take Share, the 5.0 release includes enhancements designed to improve database replication for Microsoft SQL Server environments while expanding support for numerous data types and properties.

Double-Take Share 5.0 benefits include:

• Enhanced replication for Microsoft SQL Server databases is provided through support for transaction log-based change data capture. The addition of log-based change data capture enhances replication performance and is less intrusive on database schema than trigger-based capture methods. Log-based change data capture provides users of Microsoft SQL Server databases with real-time replication and data mobility between databases.
• Expanded support for data types and data properties is provided through support for expressions (i.e. a combination of identifiers, values, and operators) in Unicode target columns, as well as by extension of the supported length of i5 characters to 32K, the maximum length now supported by DB2.
• Enhanced flat file support allows multiple delimiters of up to 10 characters to be used, providing greater flexibility in formatting of flat files and easier data interchange.
