78% Customer Base Growth for Nasuni in 2Q11

Reaching 100 clients

Nasuni Corp.
announced that the company experienced strong growth in the second quarter of
2011, increasing its customer base by 78 percent and pushing the number of
customers it serves to more than 100.

The amount of data that Nasuni protects
for its customers in terabyte increments also grew by more than 130% and much of this growth was driven by the existing customer base.

Customer
growth was strong across all of Nasuni’s vertical markets, including
manufacturing, architecture, engineering, construction, legal and education. In
addition, a number of existing customers expanded their use of
Nasuni by adding more virtual appliances to support remote offices or in-field
consulting groups.

Nasuni’s
market traction reflects the challenges posed by accelerating
data growth to enterprise IT. According to a Gartner press release regarding a
November 2010 report on 2011 data center trends, "Data growth is the biggest data center hardware infrastructure
challenge for large enterprises
."

The
pain of managing that data and ensuring that the enterprise has enough capacity
to handle exponential data growth has led IT decision makers to look at
alternatives to traditional on-site and off-site solutions. In addition,
enterprises are looking to simplify data storage with a unified
approach to reduce cost and overhead. But except for large organizations with
massive storage needs, pure cloud storage providers have
neglected to provide the kind of customer service, security and control over data
that enterprises require.

Nasuni’s
data services for storage appeals to these customers because it provides a
solution with the benefits of cloud storage – unlimited capacity, automatic
backup and offsite storage – while providing the on-premise
control via a virtual appliance, security through the encryption of all data, witht data availability backed by stringent storage service level agreement.

Nasuni’s
market momentum continues into Q3, as it added hardware options for customers
to access its storage services and accelerated the growth of its channel
program that allows resellers to deliver storage solutions
and also affords them deal registration and protection,
online sales and technical certification, and co-marketing activity.

"The enterprise wants to embrace cloud
storage, but raw cloud storage does not provide the level of security, service
or control that IT demands
," said Andres Rodriguez, CEO of Nasuni.
"Nasuni addresses this by bringing
storage services right to the edge of an organization’s infrastructure to
deliver a complete, secure enterprise-grade solution that unifies primary
storage with built-in backup and offsite replication. Our growth in Q2 and the
intense interest from the channel community in our service offering is a
testament to the strength of this new industry and the market need for secure,
reliable and cost-effective cloud storage.
