Gluster Teams Up With Savage IO

Integration of GlusterFS with NAS

Gluster announced a partnership with Savage IO LLC, a veteran-owned company that designs, manufactures and sells NAS servers.

Savage IO has integrated GlusterFS into its American-made data storage systems for virtual and cloud environments to deliver functionality and performance cost effectively.

"As data center demands increase, storage requirements are also increasing, leading to rising costs. At Savage IO, we are focused on controlling these costs while delivering performance, scalability and reliability," said Joshua Roberto, CEO of Savage IO. "We assure our customers of the best price performance and reliability, without the reflections, bottlenecks and signal loss often associated with cheaper parts. This commitment makes this the ideal partnership as Gluster is also dedicated to providing high performance, reliable storage at a cost that doesn’t break enterprise budgets."

Three characteristics set Savage IO apart from traditional storage vendors: hardware, design and costs. The company focuses on delivering an infrastructure that enables customers to integrate this new solution into their existing networks, without vendor lock-in. By designing an effective system, Savage IO provides a dense storage that can be utilized with fewer units and an overall decrease in footprint and TCO.

Gluster and Savage IO are working to help customers get the most out of their storage infrastructure. Savage IO’s infrastructure, matched with Gluster’s scale-out storage software, enables customers to control costs while delivering the performance and reliability they need to have a storage deployment. Currently, Savage IO customers are using GlusterFS in a range of industries and use cases including healthcare, financial services and private cloud deployments.

"Storage costs have been increasing dramatically due to the explosion of data and enterprise budgets are straining under the weight of high-cost storage systems from traditional vendors," said Jeff Olson, senior director of channel sales at Gluster. "By partnering with Savage IO, we are uniting two companies focused on the same mission – delivering quality storage solutions cost effectively."
